Syphilis

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum, which can enter the body through the vagina, anus, urethra, penis, lips and mouth.

Symptom Syphilis

Often, syphilis have no symptoms or only mild symptoms, so people do not realize it. Syphilis develops through stages with symptoms varying stages at each stage. Between stages are separated by a latent phase, ie the period without symptoms.  

1. Primary Stage - characterized by a circular open wounds without pain, which is called a chancre (chancre). 3. Final Stage - one of the three people who have untreated syphilis suffered serious damage to the nervous system, heart, brain, or other organs, and death may occur. This occurs 1-20 years after the start of infection.

Diagnosis Syphilis

Some doctors can diagnose syphilis by examining material sample of chancre using a special microscope called a dark-field microscope. If there syphilis bacteria, they will be seen through a microscope. A blood test is another way to determine whether someone has syphilis. Shortly after infection occurs, the body produces syphilis antibodies were detected with a blood test.

Modes of Transmission Syphilis

In the latent stage, syphilis is usually not contagious.

Treatment Syphilis
